Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says that Fabricio Coloccini's future at the club will be resolved next week.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that the future of defender Fabricio Coloccini will be resolved next week.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a return to Argentina due to personal reasons but Pardew has maintained that he is hopeful of keeping hold of his captain.

"We're going to sit down next week and hopefully iron out the issues and come to a conclusion where Colo stays," Goal.com quotes Pardew as saying.

"There's obviously a problem there in his life. The best way to deal with it at times is be on the football pitch and play your best football, and he certainly did that last week [against Norwich]."

The Magpies skipper has been at the North-East club since 2008.
