Newcastle United withdraw from Douglas deal?

Newcastle United director of football Joe Kinnear has made the decision to withdraw the club's interest in defender Douglas, according to a report.

A move for Douglas had been close to being completed after the 25-year-old left FC Twente.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Kinnear has ordered for the deal to be scrapped.

The former Wimbledon manager's arrival at the Magpies was confirmed on Tuesday, despite an error-strewn interview on the previous night.
