Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race for Hartlepool United youngster Luke James.
The 17-year-old made 19 appearances for the League One club this term, scoring three goals in a successful season.
Bolton Wanderers and Celtic are also thought to be interested in the teenager who advanced through the youth ranks at Victoria Park, according to Sky Sports News.
Newcastle have reportedly tabled an undisclosed bid for the midfielder.
