Moussa Sissoko hints at Newcastle United stay

Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko reveals that he may stay with the club in fear of losing his place in the French squad.

Moussa Sissoko has hinted that he could stay at Newcastle United this summer in order to strengthen his hopes of representing France at Euro 2016.

The combative midfielder has been linked with a switch away from St James's Park and recently claimed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was an admirer of him.

However, Sissoko is aware that the next 12 months are pivotal to his hopes of making Didier Deschamps's Les Bleus squad next summer, and the 25-year-old hints that a Magpies stay could be the best decision.

"As for my future, it's something I think about," he told The Chronicle.

"The coach Didier Deschamps said the 2015-2016 season will be very important and playing regularly is going to be important. Now I have this chance in Newcastle.

"First of all I want to try to finish this season well with France then I'll talk with my uncle, who is also my agent, and make the right decision after a holiday which I really need."

Sissoko, who has 28 France caps, started 34 of the Magpies' 38 Premier League games last term.
