Lille reject Newcastle United's Mathieu Debuchy bid

Lille have reportedly turned down a £4m offer from Newcastle United for full-back Mathieu Debuchy.

The Magpies have been touted as potential suitors for the France international, who has been impressing for Les Bleus at the European Championships this summer.

While reports have claimed that the North East side are keen to bring the 26-year-old to the Sports Direct Arena, it appears that they have failed in their first approach after Lille rejected an opening offer, according to Sky Sports News.

It has also been speculated that Champions League winners Chelsea are ready to make a £6m bid for the full-back.
