Frank Lampard relishes partnership with Andrea Pirlo, David Villa

Frank Lampard has insisted that he considers himself "lucky" to play alongside Andrea Pirlo and David Villa at New York City FC.

The Englishman was unveiled yesterday after he arrived following a spell at Manchester City, and he said that he is looking forward to playing alongside the former World Cup winners.

He said at a press conference: "David and Andrea are at the top of the list, I'm a lucky man to be in the same squad as them. I've been watching all the games. I know every player and how they play. It will be a pleasure to play with them every day.

"I think Pirlo is the best at getting his ball to dip and dive off the free-kick. He can have the first one!"

New York currently sit seventh in the Eastern Conference.
