New England Revolution see off Houston Dynamo

New England see off Houston

New England Revolution registered their first home win of the MLS season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Houston Dynamo at Gillette Stadium.

The decisive goal came on 68 minutes when neat build-up play between Teal Bunbury and Daigo Kobayashi helped set up Kevin Alston, who tucked the ball past Tally Hall.

Houston had chances to take the lead beforehand with Giles Barnes and Will Bruin going close for the visitors, but the away side failed to land a single shot on target.

Indeed, the Revolution looked more likely to add to their tally and perhaps to ought to have done when Diego Fagundez flashed his effort high and wide late in the game.

Jerry Bengtson did add a second in stoppage time to secure a victory for New England that moves them into mid-table in the Eastern Conference, ahead of Dynamo.
