Nigel de Jong returns to Dutch training

Despite having recently been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with a groin problem, Nigel de Jong trains with his Netherlands teammates.

Nigel de Jong caused a surprise this afternoon by taking part in Holland's training session.

It was confirmed last week that the AC Milan midfielder had suffered a groin injury, which was expected to rule him out of the remainder of the World Cup.

However, his appearance at today's session has resulted in speculation that he could be included among the substitutes for tomorrow's semi-final against Argentina.

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal will hold a press conference later today, where he is expected to give an update on De Jong's fitness.
