How Netherlands could line up against Norway

Netherlands have no fresh injury concerns heading into their final Group G contest against Norway on Tuesday evening, with the hosts looking to secure their spot at next year's World Cup.

Holland were on the verge of advancing to the 2022 finals on Saturday, as they took a two-goal lead away to Montenegro, only to concede twice late on, with the points being shared in a 2-2 draw.

Head coach Louis van Gaal is expected to resist the temptation to shuffle his pack for the clash with Norway, who are currently third but can also finish first or second.

There is likely to be a change in the final third of the field, though, with Donyell Malen being replaced at the interval on Saturday, having struggled to make his mark.

Steven Bergwijn is the favourite to replace Malen and join Memphis Depay and Arnaut Danjuma in the final third of the field, but Noa Lang is also an option to start.

There are not likely to be any real surprises, though, with Georginio Wijnaldum, Frenkie de Jong and Davy Klaassen set to continue as the three midfielders in a 4-3-3 formation.

Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt is expected to be frustrated once again, with Stefan de Vrij likely to retain his spot alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the defence.

Netherlands possible starting lineup: Biljow; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Blind; Wijnaldum, F de Jong, Klaassen; Bergwijn, Memphis, Danjuma
