Bert van Marwijk made to sweat on Joris Mathijsen fitness

Netherlands boss Bert van Marwijk has said that he is hoping that defender Joris Mathijsen will miss no more than one game at Euro 2012.

Mathijsen, who has been suffering from a hamstring problem, has been ruled out of the Dutch's clash with Denmark. However, Van Marwijk has dismissed speculation that the Malaga man might miss the entire tournament.

"[Mathijsen] will be with the team tomorrow," he said.

"I hope he will be available afterwards. It is going well for him, he is making progress and after speaking with the medical staff I have decided to keep him in the team."

The Oranje kick off Euro 2012 against Denmark in Kharkiv.
