The chairman of the Dutch FA reveals that national coach Bert Van Marwijk will have his role reviewed after Euro 2012.

The chairman of the Dutch Football Association has revealed that national coach Bert van Marwijk's future will be reviewed after Euro 2012.

The Netherlands are in danger of not reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament following two consecutive defeats in Group B.

However, Bert van Oostveen has insisted that the assessment is purely routine.

"It's a logical moment," he told Voetbal International. "When you look at the age of the current players, we have to bring in some new blood. For the 2014 World Cup, but especially for the Euro 2016.

"If we had a contract to 2014, the team could fulfil this project with the current players. We are looking forward to 2016 so we are monitoring the process of renewing the squad. Of course we don't want the lose the quality of the current team."

Van Oostveen also admitted that Van Marwijk would be allowed to leave the international set-up if he plans a return to club management.

"There is no shortlist of clubs where Van Marwijk can go," he added. "We just know that Bert still has the ambition to train a top club once more. If that's possible, we'll give him the chance. We made agreements about the moment when he can leave the Dutch FA."

The Oranje must beat Portugal on Sunday to give themselves a chance of making the last eight of the competition.
