Fulham, Atletico Madrid battle for Walter Gargano?

Fulham and Atletico Madrid have emerged as rivals in the race to sign Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano, according to a report.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Partenopei from Danubio in 2007, looks likely to leave the Stadio San Paolo after spending last season on loan at Inter Milan.

According to CalcioNews24 and TMW, his agent Alessandro Lucci has been in London to discuss personal terms with Fulham.

Atletico are also said to be monitoring the Uruguayan international, although reports indicate that the player has a preference for the Cottagers.
