Rafael Benitez: 'Beating Roma won't win title'

Rafael Benitez says that three points against Roma on Friday night will not settle the Serie A title.

Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has denied that Friday's clash against Roma will decide this year's destination for the Serie A title.

Benitez said that the key is consistent results throughout the entire league season and one game does not make a coach a better tactician than his opposite number.

"There are a lot of matches in Serie A and it is a race based on consistency," Benitez told Il Mattino.

"The championship is won at the end of the season, not on Friday night. If we beat Roma then that doesn't mean I am better than Rudi Garcia and if they win it doesn't mean the opposite."

The game kicks off at Stadio Olimpico at 7.45pm on Friday night.
