Half-Time Report: Gonzalo Higuain wastes chances in goalless first half

Gonzalo Higuain missed a number of good opportunities as a dominant performance from Napoli went unrewarded in a goalless first half with Inter Milan.

Samir Handanovic twice came to the rescue for Inter to keep out Higuain, who saw the goalkeeper get a hand to his powerful effort from the edge of the box before failing to beat the Slovenian with a lobbed effort after being played through by Marek Hamsik.

Higuain's movement continued to be a threat to the visiting defence as Napoli dominated to keep Inter on the back foot for long spells.

Dries Mertens was on the fringes of the game for much of the first half, but a clever piece of play from the Belgian created another chance for Higuain, who somehow managed to volley over the crossbar from just a few yards out.
