League Two roundup: Late goals send Shrewsbury Town top

Sports Mole rounds up the evening's League Two action as Shrewsbury Town go top of the table with a late win at Carlisle United

Two injury-time goals gave Shrewsbury Town a 2-1 win over Carlisle United to send them top of League Two this evening.

Charlie Wyke gave the home side the lead on 66 minutes but late strikes from James Collins and Mickey Demetriou turned the game on its head to send the visitors top.

Burton Albion dropped to second after they were held to a goalless draw at home to AFC Wimbledon, despite the visitors playing the final 25 minutes with a man less following Mark Phillips's sendingoff.

Elsewhere, an entertaining meeting at Kenilworth Road saw Luton Town and York City play out a 2-2 draw after finishing the game with 10 men apiece.

The game kicked into life 10 minutes into the second half when Josh Carson and Emile Sinclair struck two goals in three minutes.

However, Jake Hyde was sent off for the visitors and Luton took full advantage to even things up with Mark Cullen scoring two goals in six minutes.

Steve McNulty was then dismissed for the home side with four minutes of normal time remaining.

Accrington Stanley recorded a 1-0 win over Oxford United thanks to Terry Gornell's 90th-minute effort.

Neither Dagenham & Redbridge nor Portsmouth were able to find the breakthrough as the two teams played out a goalless draw.

Exeter City and Cambridge United drew 2-2, with David Wheeler popping up with an 89th-minute effort to rescue a point for the home side.

All three goals came inside the first half-hour as Mansfield slipped to a 2-1 reverse away to Morecambe.

Paul Mullin gave the home side the lead on 18 minutes before Kevin Ellison extended the lead on 24 minutes.

Simon Heslop reduced the visitors' deficit three minutes later but Morecambe kept Mansfield Town at bay to take the points.

Hartlepool United gave their survival hopes a shot in the arm with a 1-0 win at home to Northampton Town, with Marvin Morgan netting on his home debut.

Mark Byrne netted for Newport County late on to earn a draw at home to Tranmere Rovers after Rory Donnelly had given the visitors the lead on the cusp of half time.

Joe Pigott scored twice as Southend United beat Cheltenham 2-0 and Stevenage and Bury played out a goalless draw.

Plymouth Argyle beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 thanks to goals from Lewis Alessandra and Peter Hartley.
