Lee Martin: 'Ian Holloway crucial in contract talks'

Millwall winger Lee Martin reveals that he would have left the club at the end of last season if Steve Lomas was still manager.

Millwall winger Lee Martin has revealed that he would have left the club at the end of last season if Steve Lomas was still manager.

The 27-year-old signed a new two-year contract with the South London outfit last month.

Martin has claimed that Lomas, who was replaced at The Den by Ian Holloway in January, misled fans about his injury record.

"Under Lomas I was unhappy and I would have left had he still been in charge," Martin told News at Den.

"I trust [Holloway] because I know what he can get out of me. It's a win-win situation.

"As soon as Ollie agreed to give me a second year, I was always going to sign. The manager knows what's good for me."

Martin joined Millwall from Ipswich Town last summer.
