Millwall have held Wolverhampton Wanderers to a 2-2 draw in Tuesday's Championship encounter at The Den.

The hosts were quick out of the starting blocks, not allowing Wolves any time on the ball in the opening couple of minutes, before Jake Cooper and Jed Wallace both forced saves from John Ruddy.

Millwall's early dominance proved fruitful as, just 13 minutes in, the Lions surged into the lead, Wallace slipping the ball to Lee Gregory, who slotted past Ruddy from eight yards.

In first-half injury time, however, Wolves managed to equalise when Helder Costa turned his man near the right touchline and crossed for Diogo Jota to rifle home from close range.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side then edged in front on 56 minutes through Romain Saiss, who picked up a cutback from Costa to smash the ball into the top corner of the net from 25 yards out.

However, the Lions clawed themselves back into the game in the 72nd minute as successive corners culminated in Cooper nodding home from point-blank range.

Both sides continued to trade blows but neither could find a decisive third as the spoils were shared in London.

Millwall (4-4-2): Archer; McLaughlin (Romeo 52'), Hutchinson, Cooper, Meredith; Wallace, Saville, Williams, O'Brien (Tunnicliffe 82'); Elliott (Morison 60'), Gregory

Wolves (3-4-3): Ruddy; Bennett, Coady, Boly (Roderick 68'); Doherty, Saiss, Neves, Douglas; Costa (N'Diaye 81'), Jota, Cavaleiro (Bonatini 45')
