Half-Time Report: Lee Gregory misses penalty against 10-man Charlton Athletic

Millwall miss penalty against 10-man Charlton

Lee Gregory had a penalty saved in the first half of Millwall's Championship clash against Charlton Athletic, who are down to 10 men.

It was a relatively slow start at The Den, but it was the home side who carved out the best opportunities in the early stages of the first half.

Gregory and Shaun Williams created chances in front of goal, but neither could trouble the goalkeeper and the breakthrough was left wanting.

Drama ensued half an hour into the game when Chris Solly was sent off by the referee for blocking a shot on goal with his hand on the line.

With Charlton down to 10 men, Millwall had a great opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot, but Stephen Henderson managed to palm away the effort of Gregory.

Charlton boss Guy Luzon reshuffled his side after losing Solly by bringing on defender Andre Bikey, with Chris Eagles making way, and despite the blow, the team were able to see out the half without conceding.
