Neil Harris: Millwall goals conceded were 'a shambles'

Neil Harris: Millwall 'a shambles'

Neil Harris lamented his Millwall side's 4-1 defeat against Southend in this afternoon's FA Cup tie, claiming his side were 'second best' and certain aspects of the performance were 'a shambles'.

The East London outfit pulled a late goal back through Martyn Woolford, but strikes from Barry Corr, Will Atkinson, Michael Timlin and Ryan Leonard meant the Championship side was knocked out of the competition.

Jermaine Easter also saw red for Millwall at the end of the first half.

Harris told reporters: "Today wasn't good enough. The goals we conceded were a shambles.

"We were second best all over the pitch before the lights went out. You can't defend like we have been doing.

"We went for it in the end and hoped for a lucky break. It wasn't good enough at all. The game was lost before the sending off."

The game was marred by a floodlight failure at Roots Hall, which stopped play for 16 minutes.
