Moroccan midfielder Merouane Zemmama leaves Middlesbrough by mutual consent.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has confirmed that Moroccan midfielder Merouane Zemmama has left the club by mutual consent.

The 29-year-old, who moved to the Riverside Stadium from Hibernian in January 2011, made 48 appearances for the Championship outfit.

"I'd like to thank Merouane for his efforts while he was here with us. The decision we have reached is a mutual one and I would like to wish him well and every success in the future," Mowbray told the club's official website.

A number of Football League clubs are reported to be interested in his services.
