A report claims that Scott McDonald has agreed to leave Middlesbrough on a free transfer this summer.

Australian forward Scott McDonald will reportedly leave Middlesbrough on a free transfer this summer.

No official confirmation has been made by the Championship club, but according to Sky Sports News, the two parties have agreed to sever ties ahead of the start of the campaign.

Despite scoring 14 league goals for the club last season, it is believed that a mutual agreement has been made to end his contract 12 months early.

The 29-year-old, who moved to the Riverside Stadium from Celtic in 2010, has been widely linked to Millwall in recent weeks.
