Report: Alex Baptiste to join Middlesbrough on three-year deal

Free agent Alex Baptiste has reportedly undergone a medical at Middlesbrough ahead of joining the Championship club.

The 29-year-old defender is without a team after being released by Bolton Wanderers.

According to The Gazette, Baptiste will put pen to paper on a three-year contract with beaten playoff finalists Boro, who are yet to sign any new faces this summer.

Baptiste spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, scoring three goals in 34 appearances for the Lancashire side.
