Middlesbrough ease past Linense

Middlesbrough continue their preparation for the forthcoming Championship campaign with a 4-0 win over Linense in Marbella.

Middlesbrough have eased to a 4-0 friendly win over Spanish side Linense in Marbella.

The Championship team lost to Lucena in the opening match of their tour of Spain earlier this week, but it was a much-improved display from Aitor Karanka's side on Saturday morning.

After he had wasted an early chance when through on goal, Lee Tomlin redeemed himself by winning a penalty shortly before the 30-minute mark, which he dispatched to give the North-East side a deserved lead.

Middlesbrough doubled their advantage early in the second half when Brad Fewster provided the finish inside the penalty area, and that goal brought about a number of alterations to their lineup.

However, the mass changes failed to derail Middlesbrough's momentum, and with the game nearing a conclusion, Luke Williams and Grant Leadbitter both got on the scoresheet to cap off an encouraging performance from their side.
