Middlesbrough lose Tomas Mejias for a month

Middlesbrough have suffered an injury blow after learning that goalkeeper Tomas Mejias will miss the next four to five weeks with a hand injury.

The North-East outfit originally loaned the Real Madrid stopper during the January transfer window, but the transfer wasn't formally announced until the middle of February.

However, after making his debut in last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, the 25-year-old will be absent until April.

Jason Steele and Dimi Konstantopolous are expected to compete for a place in the starting lineup against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
