Daniel Ayala, Nick Blackman, Emyr Huws, Jordan Rhodes up for Championship award

Daniel Ayala, Nick Blackman, Emyr Huws and Jordan Rhodes have been nominated for September's Championship Player of the Month award.

Middlesbrough had a perfect record and defender Ayala helped them concede just two goals, as well as scoring the winner against Nottingham Forest.

Boro are second in the table and just behind them are Reading, whose forward Blackman scored three and assisted two last month.

Huws is usually a deep-lying midfielder but showcased scoring prowess in September with four goals for Huddersfield Town.

Last but not least is Rhodes, who netted five of Blackburn Rovers' seven goals after a cold, injury-hit start to the season in August.

The winner will be announced on Friday morning.
