Jacob Butterfield targets Premier League return

Butterfield eyes Premier League return

Jacob Butterfield has said that he can make an immediate return to the Premier League following his move to Middlesbrough.

The 23-year-old midfielder completed his move to the Riverside Stadium from Norwich City on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Butterfield has claimed that playing for Tony Mowbray's Boro will help him make a quick return to the top flight.

"When the Middlesbrough thing came up, I thought 'that's the kind of club where I can go and settle down'," Clubcall.com quotes Butterfield as saying.

"The whole thing was appealing and I'm struggling to see any negatives. Now I just want to get games, get into my stride and hopefully have a good season.

"Middlesbrough have the potential to get back to the Premier League as a club."

Butterfield made three appearances for Norwich last season.
