Danilo fit for Mexico clash

Brazil defender Danilo has been cleared to take part in his side's World Cup last-16 clash with Mexico on Monday.

The Manchester City right-back, who featured in Brazil's opening game against Switzerland, missed the Selecao's remaining Group E matches with a hip injury.

The 26-year-old has returned to the fold, however, and has been passed fit by team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar ahead of Monday's meeting in Samara.

Lasmar was unable to provide a similar update on left-back Marcelo, however, with the Real Madrid man uncertain to feature in the game.

The 30-year-old, who left Brazil's 2-0 win over Serbia early after suffering back spasms relating to his hotel mattress, will be assessed after Sunday's training session.
