Andre Ayew hits back at 'traitor' backlash

Andre Ayew has hit back at criticism in France after being labelled a "traitor" by some Marseille fans.

The striker, who is currently out injured with a knee problem, was pictured on a night out with several Paris Saint-Germain players over the weekend which resulted in disgruntled swipes from some members of his own fan base.

"Everyone knows my love of the club (Marseille) and the colours (of Marseille) have always been ingrained in me," Ayew wrote on Twitter.

"Please lets have some respect for each other. There is the rivalry of the clubs but there is also a reality that we are all human beings."

Ayew is pictured in Paris' famous nightclub VIP Room with Edinson Cavani, Jeremy Menez, Marco Verratti, Salvatore Sirigu and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
