Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Brest vs. Marseille

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Brest vs. Marseille.

Reims vs. Lille (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Two sides looking to secure their first victory of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season will lock horns on Sunday as Reims play host to fellow Europa League contenders Lille at the Stade Auguste-Delaune.

Reims kicked off their campaign with a 2-2 draw at Monaco, while Lille also shared the spoils in their first outing as they played out a 1-1 stalemate with Rennes.

We say: Reims 2-2 Lille

Sunday's clash has all the makings of a tightly-fought affair between two sides who will have one eye on their international ventures for the upcoming Europa League campaign. Both Reims and Lille will be desperate to get an early three points on the board as they seek another strong domestic finish, but we cannot pick a winner for this one and expect the two clubs to walk away with a point apiece.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Angers vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Angers will be looking to build on their opening-day victory over Dijon when they play host to Bordeaux for the second round of Ligue 1 fixtures.

On the other hand, Bordeaux's first game of the 2020-21 campaign ended in a goalless stalemate with Nantes last weekend.

We say: Angers 0-1 Bordeaux

Despite being forced to play with 10 men for over 70 minutes against Nantes, Bordeaux's defence did incredibly well to preserve their side's clean sheet on the opening day. Angers well full value for their victory over Dijon but were riding their luck for large portions of the game, so we expect Bordeaux to scrape a narrow win in the second round of fixtures.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Metz vs. Monaco (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Monaco will be looking to pick up their first Ligue 1 victory of the season at the second attempt when they take on Metz at Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday.

Niko Kovac's side recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Reims on the opening weekend, while Metz are in action for the first time this season.

We say: Metz 1-2 Monaco

Monaco arguably have a slight advantage heading into this match, having already got one competitive outing under their belt. The visitors also boast an impressive record in this fixture, winning eight of the last nine Ligue 1 encounters, so we are backing them to come out on top this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Nantes vs. Nimes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Early Ligue 1 pacesetters Nimes will be looking to build on their impressive opening-game victory when they take on Nantes at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday.

The Crocodiles stuffed Brest 4-0 last weekend to lead the way at the summit on goal difference, while Nantes played out a goalless draw at Bordeaux.

We say: Nantes 0-1 Nimes

Nantes have a good home record against Nimes in recent times, but the visitors enter this game on a real high and, unlike their opponents, are able to find the net. With that in mind, we are backing Arpinon's men to edge this contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

St Etienne vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lorient will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at the start of their 2020-21 Ligue 1 season when they travel to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday afternoon to take on Saint-Etienne.

The visitors opened their campaign with a 3-1 home victory over Strasbourg last weekend, but Saint-Etienne saw their opener postponed after four positive coronavirus tests at Marseille.

We say: Saint-Etienne 1-1 Lorient

Both teams will feel that they are capable of causing problems in the final third of the field, and it should be an entertaining clash on Sunday afternoon. Lorient were impressive last weekend, though, and we are therefore finding it difficult to back a home win, ultimately selecting a low-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Brest vs. Marseille (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Marseille belatedly get their Ligue 1 campaign up and running on Sunday with a meeting against bottom side Brest at Stade Francis-Le Ble.

Les Phoceens' opening fixture against Saint-Etienne was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak, while Brest were thumped 4-0 by Nimes on matchday one.

We say: Brest 0-2 Marseille

Lyon and Marseille are realistically the only sides that can challenge PSG for the title this term. If that is to be the case, Villas-Boas's men simply cannot afford to slip up in games such as this one, and we are not expecting that to be the case.

Our tipster partners are predicting that both teams will score (BTTS - yes).
