Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane maintains that defender Raphael Varane will not be leaving the Bernabeu in the summer.

Boss Zinedine Zidane has said that Raphael Varane will remain at Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

Varane is nearing the end of his eighth campaign at the Bernabeu, but there have been suggestions that the France international may look for a new challenge ahead of next season.

However, Zidane has moved to play down any further speculation regarding the centre-back as he continues to consider changes to his squad.

Zidane is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "The positive point of this season finale is that Varane will stay."

Varane - who has been linked with a switch to either Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United - still has over three years remaining on his contract.
