Barcelona boss Xavi is reportedly determined to bring Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic to Camp Nou.
The 29-year-old has again been an important player for his Italian club this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists in the process.
Brozovic has entered the final six months of his contract at San Siro, though, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent months.
The Croatia international is believed to be attracting interest from the Premier League, with Newcastle United, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs linked with a move.
However, according to Calciomercato, Barcelona are pushing to bring the midfielder to Camp Nou on a free transfer ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The report claims that the Catalan club's head coach Xavi has identified the Croatian as the ideal player to boost his midfield options for next season.
Brozovic has scored 26 goals and registered 35 assists in 271 appearances for Inter since making the move from Dinamo Zagreb in July 2016.
