Van Gaal: 'I can't buy every player I've coached'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has responded to speculation linking Dutch international Memphis Depay to Old Trafford by insisting that he "cannot buy" every player that he has coached.

Van Gaal gave the PSV Eindhoven winger his international debut during his spell as Netherlands coach.

Recent reports have claimed that Depay has already agreed to join the Red Devils in the summer, but Van Gaal has refused to talk about the matter.

"I don't discuss it with the media," Van Gaal said in this afternoon's press conference. "You know my answer. I have a lot of relationships with players. I cannot buy all the players I have coached already."

Van Gaal is widely expected to be handed substantial funds for this summer's transfer window.
