Manchester United 'preparing last-ditch bid for Mats Hummels'

Manchester United are allegedly planning to launch a bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels within the next 24 hours.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is willing to part with £37m to land the German international before the winter transfer window closes, according to the Daily Mail.

However, Hummels has previously stated that he is happy at Dortmund and would be unwilling to move elsewhere before the end of the season.

Dortmund dropped to the bottom of the Bundesliga this weekend after being held to a goalless draw at Bayer Leverkusen.
