Tomas Ujfalusi: 'Atletico Madrid fans won't forgive David de Gea if he joins Real Madrid'

Tomas Ujfalusi, former Atletico Madrid teammate of David de Gea, warns the goalkeeper that the Colchoneros fans will not forgive him if he joins arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Tomas Ujfalusi, former Atletico Madrid teammate of David de Gea, has claimed that the La Liga club's fans will not forgive him if he joins Real Madrid.

The Spanish goalkeeper joined his boyhood club in 2003 aged 13, plying his trade at the Vicente Calderon until 2011, when he joined Manchester United.

De Gea is now a reported long-term target for neighbours Real Madrid and, with just one year remaining on the 24-year-old's deal at Old Trafford, is said to be close to linking up with the Bernabeu outfit.

Ujfalusi, who played at Atletico between 2008 and 2011, is quoted by The Metro as saying: "No, no, no. [Atletico fans] are not going to forgive him [if he joins Real Madrid], for sure.

"It's not going to be easy for him to make this decision. It's also a surprise for me because he's an Atletico Madrid fan – when he was young his heart was with Atletico Madrid."

De Gea won the Europa League and a UEFA Super Cup with Atletico.
