Sevilla to sign Eric Bailly this month?

Sevilla want to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly during this month's transfer window, according to a report.

Sevilla are reportedly keen to tie up a deal for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly during this month's transfer window.

Bailly impressed during his first season at Old Trafford following a 2016 move from Villarreal, but injuries harmed his 2017-18 campaign and he has been out of favour at the club this term.

The 24-year-old made his 11th appearance of the 2018-19 season against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on December 30, but the afternoon ended in disappointment for the defender as he picked up a straight red card.

United are expected to sign two new central defenders over the next couple of transfer windows - placing Bailly's future in doubt - and according to The Sun, Sevilla want to sign the Ivory Coast international this month.

The report has added that Bailly is keen on a return to Spain with his contract at United expiring next June.

Sevilla are currently third in Spain's top flight, just five points off division leaders Barcelona, while they have progressed to the knockout round of the Europa League.
