Report: Everton end Tom Cleverley interest

Everton have reportedly ended their pursuit of Tom Cleverley on the final day of this summer's transfer window.

The Manchester United midfielder had been linked with a transfer to Goodison Park after reportedly turning down a permanent deal at Aston Villa.

However, the Daily Mail reports that the Toffees were unable to agree a deal with the England international, who will now return to Old Trafford.

Cleverley is heading into the final year of his contract with Louis van Gaal's side.
