AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci 'wants Juventus return'

AC Milan's general manager Leonardo claims that defender Leonardo Bonucci is keen to secure a return to Juventus this summer.

AC Milan's general manager Leonardo has suggested that defender Leonardo Bonucci is looking to re-join Juventus.

Bonucci only made the switch to San Siro last summer, but Milan's financial situation and failure to secure a place in the Champions League has resulted in the possibility of player sales.

Leonardo has just been appointed as the club's new general manager, and the Brazilian has acknowledged that the centre-back could move on before the end of the transfer window.

At a press conference, the 48-year-old said: "I've met some people, not just those from Juventus. We're bound to FFP, so it won't be a crazy market. It'll be moderate and wise. The desire [to talk to Juve] started with Leonardo Bonucci, so if we can, we'll make it happen. We have no objection to it.

"It all started from an idea, a very sensible and quiet one. It's from here that all the talk started. It's very normal for a player to have a wish. A player doesn't just ask to leave, there's also the project and objectives to consider.

"He arrived last year as a symbol for change. In great harmony, we'll try to see what will happen. It's not definite that he'll leave."

Bonucci has also been heavily linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
