Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is reportedly concerned above the club's motives behind offering him a new contract, with 15 months remaining on his current deal.

Eric Bailly has reportedly expressed doubt over the worthiness of a new contract at Manchester United.

The Ivory Coast international has fallen out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, failing to feature in any of Man United's last three games.

Speculation over Bailly's future has grown in recent weeks amid suggestions that the centre-back is unhappy at his lack of game time.

The 26-year-old has just 15 months remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford, and Sky Sports News reports that he is concerned signing an extension would only succeed in allowing Man United to charge a higher transfer fee for his services this summer.

The report claims that Bailly has confided in friends that he is resigned to never being a first-choice defender under Solskjaer and that he has reservations over the motive behind the club's contract talks.

The defender would reportedly love to spend the remainder of his career at Man United, but is willing to turn down an extension if he can gain more regular first-team football elsewhere.

Bailly joined the Red Devils in 2016 and has gone on to make 100 appearances for the club across all competitions.
