Report: Manchester United youngster Paddy McNair to receive new deal

Manchester United are to offer young centre-back Paddy McNair a new contract this week, according to reports.

The Northern Irishman has played twice for the Red Devils this term following injuries to their more senior defenders.

According to the Daily Star, manager Louis van Gaal wants to reward the 19-year-old with a similar deal as fellow young defender Tyler Blackett is thought to be receiving.

McNair, a regular in the United Under-21s squad until this season, is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.
