Manchester United could sign Saul Niguez and Jadon Sancho for a combined fee of £130m this summer - more than £100m cheaper than they were initially quoted for the pair.

The coronavirus pandemic could mean that Manchester United sign two of their top targets for a combined fee of around £130m this summer - more than £100m less than they were initially quoted.

The Red Devils are expected to be one of only a handful of clubs still capable of spending significant money when the transfer window reopens due to the financial implications of football shutting down.

In what will be a buyers' market, United are hopeful that they will be able to take advantage of other clubs needing to raise funds by signing players in cut-price deals.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is understood to be at the top of their list of targets, although reports have suggested that Ed Woodward is privately hopeful that they could land the £100m-rated 20-year-old for closer to £60m.

United are also reportedly on the verge of finalising a deal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, who has seen his asking price plummet from his £132m release clause down to around £70m.

The duo combined would have therefore set United back at least £232m had they paid the initial asking prices, but they could now save £102m and sign both for £130m.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also thought to want a new central defender and a new centre-forward when the transfer window reopens.
