Man United transfer news: Jadon Sancho makes 'stunning decision' in a bid to secure dream move this summer

Man United's Sancho makes 'stunning decision' in a bid to secure dream transfer

Jadon Sancho has reportedly told Borussia Dortmund that he would be willing to cut his Manchester United salary in half in order to secure a return to the German club during this summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old is back at Man United after spending the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Chelsea, but he is not in the plans of head coach Ruben Amorim, with the Red Devils working to sell him this summer.

Juventus continue to be credited with an interest in the ex-Manchester City attacker, although the Old Lady have thus far been unable to come to an agreement over a deal.

Sancho's former club Dortmund have also emerged as potential suitors, and according to Bild, the forward has made a staggering decision in a bid to secure a return to the German club.

The report claims that the Englishman has told Dortmund's managing director Lars Ricken and sporting director Sebastian Kehl that he wants to make the move back to BVB during the summer market.

Sancho 'willing to cut Man United salary in half' to secure BVB return

Sancho has allegedly made it clear that he would be prepared to cut his £275,000-a-week salary at Man United in half in order to secure a move back to Dortmund on a permanent basis.

Such is Man United's desire to sell Sancho this summer, it is understood that he could be available for as little as £15m, making him a bargain capture considering his age and experience.

Sancho showed glimpses of his undoubted talent at Chelsea last season, scoring five goals and registering 10 assists in 41 appearances, but he could not come to an agreement with the Blues over a permanent return.

For Man United, Sancho has a record of 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances, having struggled to make his mark for the 20-time English champions since arriving from Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

Sancho's best football has been played at Dortmund

Across two spells, Sancho has represented Dortmund on 158 occasions, scoring 53 goals and registering 67 assists in the process, and he has been at his happiest during his time with BVB.

Sancho should be entering his prime years as a footballer, and it is absolutely vital that he secures a permanent move away from Man United this summer, as another loan would ultimately lead to more uncertainty down the line.

Dortmund cannot afford to match Sancho's Man United salary, but if the Englishman is willing to accept a significant wage drop, and the Red Devils are prepared to listen to offers of around £15m, then an emotional return to the German club this summer would certainly be on the cards for the forward.
