Manchester United have reportedly made contact with West Ham United as they consider a formal offer for Declan Rice.
However, according to The Sun, United are also interested in securing a deal for Rice before the end of the transfer window.
Rice - a graduate of the West Ham academy - has emerged as one of the club's most prized assets over the past 12 months after starring as a defensive midfielder.
The 20-year-old is also being tipped to become a force in defence, which is something that will appeal to Solskjaer as he looks for long-term options in that area of the pitch.
Like with Diop, United may have to offer in the region of £60m for West Ham to entertain parting ways with a player who holds a long-term contract at the London Stadium.body check tags ::
