Man United 'facing battle to keep Odion Ighalo'

Manchester United are reportedly facing a battle to extend Odion Ighalo's loan deal.

The Nigeria international joined United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January and has impressed for the Red Devils, scoring four times in eight appearances for the club in all competitions.

Ighalo's contract at Old Trafford will expire at the end of May, but the Premier League season is not expected to resume until June, if at all, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

United are thought to be keen to extend the striker's stay, but according to Sky Sports News, Shanghai want the 30-year-old to return in time for the expected return of the Chinese Super League in July.

The report claims that the Chinese outfit would be prepared to sell Ighalo on a permanent deal, although they value the Nigerian in the region of £20m.

The former Watford forward recently revealed that he wants to extend his loan deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
