Manchester United could raise as much as £78m during the January transfer window by selling Phil Jones, Donny van de Beek, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

The Red Devils brought Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo to the club over the summer, but a disappointing 2021-22 campaign to date has left them down in sixth spot in the Premier League table.

Man United are believed to be considering moving for a new central midfielder in January, although head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need to trim the squad for that to become a possibility.

Jones has worked his way back to fitness following a long-term knee injury but does not appear to be part of Solskjaer's first-team plans, and a recent report claimed that a number of clubs were interested in the 29-year-old, who is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt.

As many as 13 sides are said to be keen on the Englishman, who would be allowed to leave Old Trafford at the start of 2022 for the right price.

Van de Beek, meanwhile, continues to struggle for action at Old Trafford, and Man United could decide to let the Netherlands international leave in January.

Valued at £22.5m, there is likely to be a host of interest in the midfielder, with Newcastle United, Everton and Barcelona among the clubs said to be considering a move.

Lingard, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a return to West Ham United; the England international decided to stay at Old Trafford over the summer but has struggled to work his way into Solskjaer's XI, and with his contract expiring next June, he could seemingly be available for a fee in the region of £19.8m.

As for Martial, the France international has dropped down the pecking order this season, starting just twice in the Premier League, and he is believed to be attracting the attention of Juventus.

The 25-year-old still has four years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford, though, and Transfermarkt have set his value at £31.5m, meaning that the 20-time English champions could potentially raise as much as £78m through player sales during the winter window.
