Liverpool-linked Real Sociedad attacker Takefuso Kubo is reportedly preparing to switch clubs during this summer's transfer window.

Real Sociedad attacker Takefuso Kubo is reportedly preparing to switch clubs during this summer's transfer window, with a number of Premier League clubs believed to be interested in his services.

Liverpool are currently being linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who has made 50 appearances for Real Sociedad during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring seven goals and registering four assists in the process.

According to Fichajes, Kubo's representatives are currently in discussions over a move away from Real Sociedad this summer, which has attracted the attention of 'several Premier League teams'.

Kubo made the move to La Real from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, and he has represented his current side on 135 occasions in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and registering 18 assists in the process.

The attacker has a contract with his Basque club until the end of the 2028-29 campaign, with the buy-out figure in his deal set at €60m (£50m).

Kubo 'set to leave Real Sociedad this summer'

Kubo has scored five goals in 34 La Liga appearances this season, while he managed two goals and two assists in 11 outings in the Europa League, with Real Sociedad reaching the last-16 stage of the competition.

There will be huge changes at Real Sociedad this season, with head coach Imanol Alguacil moving on, while key player Martin Zubimendi is expected to make the switch to Arsenal.

It has been a disappointing campaign for the Basque team, with 43 points from 36 matches leaving them in 12th spot in the La Liga table, and they are winless in their last six matches in Spain's top flight.

Who could battle Liverpool for his signature?

Manchester United are also in the market for new attackers this summer, and there has previously been suggestions of interest from the Red Devils in Kubo, who is still in the early stages of his career.

Chelsea are also looking to boost their wide options, with the Blues potential candidates, while Newcastle United and Aston Villa could also be contenders for the Japan international during the summer market.

Kubo is seemingly entering the latter stages of his career at Real Sociedad, and a move to the Premier League could be on the horizon, with Liverpool seemingly in pole position to secure his signature.
