Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann refuses to rule out a future move for Tottenham Hotspur and England forward Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has refused to rule out a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane amid the recent speculation surrounding the England captain.

The Bundesliga champions are looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who has been allowed to make the move to Barcelona this summer after expressing a desire to leave.

Bayern are said to be keen on a move for Kane, with the German giants thought to be lining up a big-money offer for next summer, and Nagelsmann refused to rule out a move for the 28-year-old when questioned during a press conference in the United States.

"He's very expensive that's the problem - but brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a centre forward [as well as a] No 10, but he's very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet," Nagelsmann told reporters.

"He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don't know the price, but it's really tough for Bayern Munich. We'll see what happens in the future."

A recent report claimed that Tottenham have made it clear that they will not be entertaining any transfer discussions for the Englishman during this summer's transfer window.

Kane's current deal with Spurs is due to expire in June 2024, and the North London outfit are allegedly keen to open talks over an extension, which would secure his future.

Tottenham came close to losing Kane last summer, with Manchester City pushing to bring the forward to the Etihad Stadium, but the Citizens were ultimately priced out of a deal.

Kane scored 27 goals and registered 10 assists in 50 appearances for Spurs in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign, including 17 goals and nine assists in the Premier League, as Antonio Conte's side finished fourth in the table ahead of rivals Arsenal to secure a return to the Champions League.

The striker is said to be confident that Tottenham can challenge for major prizes under Conte, but he could potentially consider his future next summer if the club have another trophyless campaign.

The centre-forward has found the back of the net on 248 occasions in 386 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, in addition to contributing 59 assists.

"He is under contract at Tottenham. Sure, he is an absolute top striker, but that's all a dream of the future. So let's see what happens," Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn recently told Bild.

The Bundesliga champions have also been linked with Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo as a replacement for Lewandowski, who has been so vital to their success in recent years.

However, Kahn has ruled his side out of the running for the Portugal international, also telling Bild: "I love Cristiano Ronaldo and everyone knows what a fantastic player he is. But every club has a certain philosophy and I'm not sure if it would be the right signal for Bayern if we signed him."

Lewandowski's departure has seen Bayern lose a player who scored 344 goals and registered 72 assists in 375 appearances for the club between 2014 and 2022.
