Zlatan Ibrahimovic barred from leaving Sweden camp to wrap up Man United move

Sweden head coach Erik Hamren bans Zlatan Ibrahimovic from leaving their Euro 2016 base to complete a move to Manchester United.

Sweden head coach Erik Hamren has barred Zlatan Ibrahimovic from leaving the team's camp in France to finalise a free transfer to Manchester United.

Widespread reports have claimed that the 34-year-old is due to sign a one-year deal with the Red Devils after opting to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The player himself has been tight-lipped about his future destination, but it is believed that he will reunite with new United manager Jose Mourinho.

Hamren, though, has indicated that any move will not be completed until after Sweden's campaign at Euro 2016.

"Players have their leisure time on the schedule, what they do then there's nothing I can do to control, but it would not be okay for Zlatan to fly to Manchester," Hamren said in a press conference.

"I'm 100% sure [the transfer rumours] will not affect Zlatan. He has been in the business a long time. He handles it perfectly. The players of the national team are accustomed to all the rumours surrounding Zlatan too. They are familiar with it. There is absolutely nothing that has affected us negatively in the group.

"I am for sure the rumours surrounding the captain will not affect the team. I understand there is a lot of Zlatan media - not only in Sweden - but, with us, it is nothing."

Ibrahimovic scored 50 goals in 51 appearances for PSG in his final season of a four-year spell at Parc des Princes.
