Hull keen to make Powell move permanent

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that he would like to sign Nick Powell permanently at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Championship leaders on loan from Manchester United last month and has featured in the Tigers' last three games, including in an impressive FA Cup stalemate at the Emirates last weekend.

Powell's contract at Old Trafford is up at the end of the season, at which point Bruce hopes to prise the youngster from his former side.

"If I get the chance I would like to make it permanent," he told reporters yesterday. "United hold all the cards."

Powell made headlines last week when he admitted that he "completely forgot" to watch United's Europa League first-leg defeat to FC Midtjylland as he was busy playing FIFA.
