Man United transfer news: Rasmus Hojlund's future 'decided' as Red Devils near £69.8m Benjamin Sesko capture

Hojlund's Man United future 'decided' as Red Devils close in on Sesko transfer

Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly resigned to leaving Manchester United, as the Red Devils close in on the signature of RB Leipzig centre-forward Benjamin Sesko.

The 20-time English champions have beaten Newcastle United to Sesko, who is currently waiting for the green light to travel to England to undergo a medical with Ruben Amorim's side.

Newcastle made the first move for Sesko and had, at one stage, been confident of holding off Man United in order to bring the Slovenia international to St James' Park.

However, Sesko has chosen the Red Devils, with a move potentially being completed over the weekend.

The striker has allegedly already reached an agreement with Man United over a contract until June 2030, but the two clubs are still negotiating the structure of the deal.

Man United's fixed offer for Sesko is believed to be €80m (£69.8m), but it is still unclear at this stage how much of that figure will be paid up front, with add-ons included in the price.

Hojlund 'resigned' to leaving Man United

According to the Manchester Evening News, Hojlund is now resigned to the fact that he will be leaving the 20-time English champions this summer, with Sesko set to be the number one striker at the club.

Hojlund has been involved in Man United's pre-season, finding the back of the net against Bournemouth in the team's penultimate match of their US tour, but there has been constant speculation surrounding his future.

The Denmark international has expressed a desire to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his spot, but the decision is set to be taken out of his hands.

The striker struggled during the 2024-25 campaign, only managing 10 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions, while he struck just four times in the Premier League last term.

Which club are the favourites for Hojlund?

Hojlund has allegedly rejected the chance to make the move to Leipzig, but there is believed to be strong interest in the centre-forward from Italy, where his stock is high due to the potential that he showed at Atalanta BC.

Inter Milan and AC Milan are both believed to be keen on the striker, while Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Roma are also among the teams thought to be keeping a close eye on the developments.

Man United are thought to be willing to sell Hojlund for as little as £30m, which would represent a loss on the club's balance sheet, with his PSR value currently set at £38.4m.
