Dietmar Hamann: 'Robert Lewandowski ideal for Manchester United'

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that Robert Lewandowski would be a great signing for Manchester United.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Dietmar Hamann has claimed that Robert Lewandowski would be a perfect addition for Manchester United.

The striker has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side this summer, with Old Trafford reported as a possible destination.

Lewandowski joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund last summer and went on to score 24 goals in his first campaign with the Bavarians.

"I think United will buy another centre-forward because in that department they don't have quite enough," Hamann told talkSPORT.

"Falcao has left, Van Persie has left, so they need a centre-forward. I think Lewandowski will be a player who would fit in perfectly. But I think Bayern Munich are probably not going to sell him."

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the Poland international.
